Wheel
Learn the art of shaping clay on the potter's wheel. You'll work with clay and we'll go through the whole process: centring, pulling up, shaping, bisque firing and final glazing. Up to 2 people per session, with clay, tools and firings included.

Pottery in Olot, in the heart of la Garrotxa
Roig de Coure is a pottery studio in the centre of Olot, at Plaça Rector Ferrer, 15, in the Garrotxa region (Girona, Catalonia). You can book two-hour wheel sessions for one or two people, hand-building classes for groups of up to 8 and pottery painting workshops for groups of up to 15. It is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 13:00 and 17:00 to 20:00.
If you're looking for things to do in Olot at the weekend, an alternative to the volcano trails is making pottery at Roig de Coure. In a two-hour session you make your own piece on the wheel or by hand, even if you have never done it before, and about ten days later you collect it glazed and fired. The studio is in the centre of Olot and opens on Saturdays and Sundays, morning and afternoon.

Do I need to have done pottery before?
No. The two-hour sessions are designed for people touching clay for the first time.
What does the price include?
Clay, tools, apron, glazing and firings. For pottery painting, the price depends on the piece you choose.
When can I collect my piece?
About 10 days later for wheel and hand-building, and about 5 days for painted pieces.
How do I use a gift voucher?
Whoever receives it goes to the booking page, enters the code and picks a day. Voucher sessions run from 10:00 to 12:00.

The pottery experience for couples is one of our most requested activities: you share a relaxed, fun session making pieces on the wheel or by hand. We also have gift vouchers delivered instantly, ideal for birthdays or surprises.
Are the pieces dishwasher and microwave safe?
Yes. Once finished with food-safe ceramic glazes, the pieces are safe for everyday use, the dishwasher and the microwave.
What should I wear to the studio?
We recommend comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty and flat shoes. The studio has cotton aprons, and clay and pigments wash out easily with water.
Do you organise activities for groups, birthdays, hen and stag parties or companies?
Of course. We organise private sessions according to the capacity of each activity: wheel (up to 2 people), hand-building (up to 8) or pottery painting (up to 15). For larger groups, message us on WhatsApp at +34 683 633 880.
What is the student portal and how do hours packs work?
It is the space for students who come regularly: you can check your hours balance, buy discounted hours packs, manage your bookings and carry a digital QR card to enter the studio.

We are at Plaça Rector Ferrer, 15, in the centre of Olot (la Garrotxa). There is free and paid public parking less than 3 minutes' walk away, such as the Hospital Vell car park or the town-centre car parks.
